Regulations on Peer Review Process

Article 1 (Purpose)
These regulations outline the review process for papers submitted to the Journal of Korean Society of Manufacturing Process Engineers.

Article 2 (Selection of the Editorial Board)
Upon submission of a paper, an Editorial Board member will be assigned as the corresponding editor, who will then oversee all tasks associated with its review.

Article 3 (Selection of Member from the Judging Committee)
The editor shall review the paper's academic area, adherence to submission regulations, and suitability for publication. If necessary, the editor may return the manuscript to the author for revisions or suggest resubmission. Additionally, the editor will appoint two or more reviewers, forming a review panel, to conduct a thorough review of the manuscript.

Article 4 (Completion of Review)
1. The editor will make the final decision regarding a paper's publication, classifying it as either "accepted", "accepted after revision", "reconsidered after revision", or “Rejected” for publication, based on the review by the Judging Committee.
2. The editor has the authority to modify the composition of the Judging Committee as required.
3. The decisions of the Judging Committee shall be detailed with reasons or explanations to justify their verdict.
4. In principle, reconsideration requests from authors shall not be entertained.
5. Only papers that comply with the [Research Ethical Policy] shall be eligible for publication.

Article 5 (Opinion Sharing)
The editor and Judging Committee members will communicate with authors through the Society's paper submission system to exchange opinions.

Article 6 (Review Period)
1. The standard review period for a paper by the Judging Committee shall be 20 days. Upon expiration of this period, a request for review completion or a change in committee members may be initiated.
2. Selection of Judging Committee members shall occur immediately after a thorough assessment of the paper's suitability and adherence to ethical standards.
3. In instances of "Reconsidered after revision," the author must resubmit the revised paper within two months; failure to do so may lead to the cancellation of the review process by the Board member.

Article 7 (Review Compensation)
The Judging Committee members are eligible for monetary compensation for their reviews.

Article 8 (Outstanding Paper)
1. Papers published that demonstrate exceptional academic quality, practicality, and applicability shall be recognized as outstanding papers.
2. The selection of outstanding papers shall be decided by the Board.

Article 7 (Review Compensation)
The Judging Committee members are eligible for monetary compensation for their reviews.

Article 8 (Outstanding Paper)
1. Papers published that demonstrate exceptional academic quality, practicality, and applicability shall be recognized as outstanding papers.
2. The selection of outstanding papers shall be decided by the Board.

Article 9 (Confidentiality)
The Board and Committee members shall be obligated to uphold the confidentiality of the papers and review process they oversee.

Article 10 (Addendum)
Any issues not specified in these regulations shall be resolved at the discretion of the Board.
